For those seeking fun and action, the rides are a must, including a towering Ferris wheel, and an array of funfair favourites. The Magical Ice Kingdom, an enchanting walkthrough experience of ice sculptures and frozen scenes, is a showstopper.

#2: Bath Christmas Market

The Bath Christmas Market is one of the best-known and most magical in the UK. It’s picturesque setting around Bath Abbey and the charming city centre is the perfect location to get you in the holiday spirit.
The market is completely free, but with it being a small city, it does get rather crowded. If you’re arriving by car, your best bet is to use one of the Park & Rides on the outskirts.
With more than 200 decorated chalets, you’ll find all kinds of gifts from handcrafted items and souvenirs to delicious seasonal treats like Christmas pudding and roasted chestnuts. Be sure to warm up with a cup of mulled wine as you enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Bath’s historic charm, paired with the twinkling lights and seasonal music, makes for an unforgettable experience building up to Christmas.
When to Visit?
Late November through early December (Bath markets close earlier than most, in mid-December).

#5: Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market

With a central hub in Victoria Square, the Frankfurt Christmas Market Birmingham takes over the city centre for almost two months every year. Sprawling down New Street and adjacent pedestrianised zones, the annual festivities are considered the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria, with something for every kind of merry-maker.
Mulled wine, boozy hot chocolates, and in recent years, other concoctions like hot gin and ginger ale keep revellers warm, and there’s a real party atmosphere on evenings and weekends.
In Victoria Square, a gigantic central bandstand hosts a rotating schedule of live performances, including vintage jazz, atmospheric classical covers, and talented tribute acts. There’s also a Ferris wheel and ice rink in Centenary Square, and if you’re lucky, you might get a glimpse of Father Christmas on stage.
Of course, you’ll find the usual market stalls selling kitsch decorations and handicrafts, but most come to Birmingham Christmas markets for the food and drink, with a tempting array of German and international fare on offer.
The smell of sizzling bratwurst and cinnamon-dusted doughnuts is what draws you in, but the sensational entertainment ensures you stay put.

#6: Blenheim Palace Christmas Market

If you’re looking for a Christmas market with a wow factor, Blenheim Palace is the one.
Set in the stunning Great Court of this magnificent stately home, rows of wooden chalets are brimming with unique gifts, handmade crafts, and delicious festive treats. Whether you’re picking up artisan cheeses, sampling craft vodka, or enjoying mulled wine under the twinkling lights, it’s a magical way to get into the holiday spirit.

The Chatsworth Christmas Market is one of the best Christmas events in Derbyshire. There are over 100 stalls in wooden huts selling food, drink, and gifts from a variety of businesses from artisanal makers to well-known outdoors brands. It’s all set on the grounds of Chatsworth House and the stately home backdrop is really impressive.
Indulge in a mulled wine, hot chocolate, or a German beer at one of the outdoor bars, or grab a hot pork roll, gourmet burger, or crepe if you’re feeling peckish.
You’ll also be able to enjoy some of the live music performances throughout the day with traditional brass bands, singers, and an oompah band, plus many others.
You can tie in your visit with a walk around the extensive grounds or a visit to the house itself, which is decorated for Christmas each year.
The market is free to attend, however, you do have to pay for parking which must be booked in advance and is quite expensive. Try to take public transport or walk there if you can, to avoid these charges.
Top Tip: Get there early in the morning to avoid the crowds and get the best shopping experience.

Cardiff Christmas Market is an annual market, running for the past 30 years and located in four, pedestrianised streets in the city centre.
At the market, there are over 130 stalls selling original products from local vendors and many with unique Welsh-ness like Welsh love spoons, Welsh-themed Christmas decorations, hand-made quilts and pillows with words like ‘cwtch’ written on them, Welsh-coast pebble art, Celtic Whiskey and Barry Island Gin.
One of the best parts of the Cardiff Christmas Markets in Cardiff is all the tasty, traditional Welsh food on offer for sampling, as well as supper and souvenirs. You’ll find foods like brownies, Snowdonia cheese, a bowl of Cawl, raw Welsh honey, bara brith and homemade Welsh cakes.
When to Visit?
The market is open from November 14th to December 23rd and trading hours are between 10 AM to 6 PM Monday to Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sundays.

#17: Canterbury Christmas Market

With 95 huts and over 150 stallholders (and yes, with lots of delicious bratwurst, mulled wine, cider, and schnapps), Canterbury’s Christmas Market is one of the largest Christmas markets in the South East.
Here, you can enjoy a 30ft Christmas tree, a traditional carousel, and festive mini golf. Children can ride on Santa’s magical VR sleigh, visit a grotto with a talking letterbox, see singing reindeer, and even have breakfast with Santa.
