I don’t know about you but I am really feeling the January Blues this year.
After our dreamy Christmas getaway spanning across Budapest and Vienna, where we consumed our own weight in mulled wine and carbs, and where I briefly felt like a full-time traveller (thanks company Christmas shutdown! :)), and the subsequent, rather anti-climatic New Year’s period spent in isolation with my brother, away from Mister (who, unlike us, was miraculously spared by COVID gods)… The return to work and real life has been a struggle.
With Mister away for work for a month (literally two days after I finished my self-isolation), I suddenly found myself with a lot of time on my hands… And I would like to say that I spent that time reading, learning a new language, organising the house, spending time on the blog, preparing myself for the work year ahead, but I didn’t. Instead, I grabbed a nice, crisp glass of white and plunged deep into the sea of online shopping, right in time for sale season and some much-needed retail therapy.
And my my, did I find some goodies to share with you!
The Ones to Keep
While I like shopping as much as the next person, in recent years, I have been trying to change my habits a little bit and shop more responsibly, (if possible) sustainably and always with the purpose of finding items that I would keep and use for years to come. So, with this in mind, I was careful about the number of items I purchased (which included a couple more than those listed here) and eventually kept.
Like this beautiful Coach Beat Shoulder Bag 18 in Colorblock (reduced to £180), which has been on my radar for some time (even though I knew very well that my phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max) would not fit inside it), and this gorgeous Reiss Navy Brooks Wool Blend Longline Overcoat (reduced to £195), the softest, most elegant outer layer you will ever own and that I can’t wait to wear for the years to come! All paired with a simple Anthropologie Textured Monogram Necklace, or layered with other necklaces for instant perfection:

Final touches
While there was no sale, I also made sure to order some more True Grace Fig Scented Leaves (£15) to store my new purchases in a wardrobe that smells like heaven!
I am a long-time fan of this brand and cannot recommend it highly enough. They truly have an extensive fragrance compendium (my favourites being Portobello Oud and Fig) and a wide range of products (candles, diffusers, scented leaves, soaps…) ready to address all your home fragrance needs.
Honestly, try and you won’t be disappointed.
So here is my brief Retail Therapy for January Blues list.
How about you? Did you find any keepers this sale season?
Let me know in the comments!
